Renacit

Overview

Renacit is a haemodialysis concentrate formulated with citrate in place of most of the acetate used in conventional concentrates. Product labelling gives a citrate concentration of 3.00 mmol/L in the final dialysate, with bicarbonate at 30.00 mmol/L.

Citrate acts as a local anticoagulant within the extracorporeal circuit. The manufacturer reports a reduced heparin requirement and reduced clotting during heparin-free dialysis, together with figures for dialysis adequacy and dialyser reuse; their clinical documentation is provided on request so that your clinical team can assess it directly rather than take a claim on trust.

Renacit supplies Part A as a dry acid powder with Part B sodium bicarbonate powder, for 35X three-stream machines. Renacit-S supplies Part A as a solution for units that prefer a liquid Part A.
